Wayne Brown, 38, is a Project Manager for Automated Publishing Solutions, Inc. He is
responsible for ensuring the projects are completed on time, within budget, and
adhere to high quality standards. He plays a primary role interfacing and coordinating with customers and management. Wayne
incorporates the software architecture to create project breakdown structures to direct the project's resources and develop the project plan.
He works closely with the Solution Architect ensuring that the Chief Architect's decision and common
vision is communicated and properly executed for each project. He
co-founded APS in January 2003.
Wayne began his professional career with GE in 1982. He has developed
distributed control systems for the Pulp & Paper industry for
large mills including GP, Mead and Boise Cascade. He was the lead
engineer for GE at Georgia Pacific's largest Pulp & Paper mill
located in Ashdown, AR. He successfully developed control systems for
black liquor recovery boilers, bleach plants and batch digesters in
the pulp mill. His most recent project involved the development and
integration of a new O2 delignification plant (2000). Wayne began his Publishing experience
managing mailroom automation projects at the Arizona Republic, Orlando
Sentinel and Dallas Morning News. He served as the lead technical
manager for GE on the Chicago Tribune Freedom Center North Sunday
Packaging Facility (2002). He was the primary interface between the
Chicago Tribune, GE and the OEM handling schedules, project plans and
overseeing the implementation of the hardware & software
architecture. Wayne developed a close working relationship
with the Chicago Tribune and OEM. The project involved the software
integration of an entire Collating Packaging System. The system
included the Collator, Polywrappers, Conveyors & Diverts,
Stackers, Tyers, Bundle Labelers/Readers, Marquee displays, interface
of controls for the Preprint Planning System & Warehouse
Management System and associated drives and controls.
Mr. Brown holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering Technology
from the University of West Florida (1992). Wayne and his wife Sheila live in Pensacola,
FL and have two sons and one daughter.
